BY-LAW 2010-037
A By-Law to amend By-law 2010-008
Being a By-law to Appoint Municipal Officers and Employees
WHEREAS pursuant to the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001 c.25, as amended, municipalities
may appoint officers and employees as may be necessary for the purposes of the Corporation;
AND WHEREAS Subsection 6 (1) of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997, S.O.
1997, C. 4 provides that if a fire department is established for the whole or a part of a
municipality or for more than one municipality, the council of the municipality or the
councils of the municipalities, as the case may be, shall appoint a fire chief for the fire
department;
AND WHEREAS Ontario Regulation 380/04, a Regulation passed under authority of the
Emergency Management Act, R.S.O. 1999, C. E.9, provides in part that every Municipality
shall designate an employee of the municipality or a member of the council as its emergency
management program co-ordinator;
AND WHEREAS, the Council of the Municipality of Bayham deems it necessary and
expedient to amend By-law No. 2010-008 to appoint municipal officers and employees for
the purposes of the Municipality to reflect various staff changes made.
NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF
BAYHAM HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Section 1.11 of By-law No. 2010-008, be and the same is hereby amended by
deleting "Vacant" for the Office/Position of "Fire Chief/By-law Enforcement
Officer/Property Standards Officer,Provincial Offences Officer and Community Emergency
Management Co-ordinator" and inserting therefore "Gordon Roesch".
2. THAT Section 1.1 of By-law No. 2010-008, be and the same is hereby amended by
inserting "Alternate Community Emergency Management Co-ordinator".
3. THAT Section 1.3 of By-law No. 2010-008, be and the same is hereby amended by
deleting "Vacant" for the Office/Position of "Treasurer/Tax Collector" and inserting
therefore"Denis Duguay".
4. THAT this By-law come into full force and affect upon final passing.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 1ST
DAY OF APRIL 2010.
