By-law No. 2007-031 THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM BY-LAW NO.2007-031 BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE BAYHAM HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO APPROACH VEHICLES FOR THE SOLICITATION OF DONATIONS DURING EDISON FEST JUNE 9, 2007 WHEREAS the Safe Streets Act, 1999, S.O. 1999, Chapter 8, Section 3, Sub-Section (3) permits fund-raising solicitation activities by charitable organizations registered under the Income Tax Act (Canada) on roadways where the maximum speed limit is 50 kilometres per hour and are so authorized by a municipal by-law; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham is desirous to authorize the Bayham Historical Society to approach vehicles to conduct fund-raising solicitation activities on Plank Road within the limits of the Village of Vienna; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham deems it necessary and expedient to pass a by-law to authorize the said activities during the Edison Fest being held June 9, 2007. THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS. 1. THAT the Bayham Historical Society and its volunteers be authorized to approach vehicles to conduct fund-raising solicitation activities on Plank Road within the limits of the Village of Vienna during Edison Fest on June 9, 2007 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 2. THAT the solicitation activities take place in regard to incoming traffic only at the following location within the Village of Vienna: ■ at the northerly limits of Vienna along the west side of Plank Road across from# 6342 Plank Road. 3. THAT the said Bayham Historical Society and its volunteers shall conduct the activities in a controlled manner,being respectful for those who may not wish to contribute, wear identification, take adequate safety precautions, incorporate safety signage and equipment,both to slow traffic and make aware of efforts. 4. THAT this by-law shall come into full force and effect upon final passing. READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED this 22nd day of March 2007. I 4 so CLERK
