HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law No. 2005-060 THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM BY-LAW 2005-060 A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH ELGIN COUNTY AREA MUNICIPALITIES FOR THE SHARING OF MUNICIPAL BUILDING DEPARTMENT STAFF WHEREAS the Councils of the Elgin County area municipalities wish to exercise a co- operative approach to meeting building inspection needs of their respective communities; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to share resources between the municipalities to ensure adequate building inspection services are available in each community; AND WHEREAS Subsection 3 (1) of the Building Code Act provides that"The council of each municipality is responsible for the enforcement of this Act in the municipality, except where otherwise provided in this Act" AND WHEREAS Subsection 3 (2) of the Building Code Act provides that "The council of each municipality shall appoint a chief building official and such inspectors as are necessary for the enforcement of this Act in the areas in which the municipality has jurisdiction." NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized to execute the Agreement attached hereto as Schedule "A" and forming part of this by-law between The Corporation of the Town of Aylmer, The Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham, The Corporation of the Municipality of Central Elgin, Corporation of the Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich, The Corporation of the Township of Malahide, The Corporation of the Township of Southwold, and The Corporation of the Municipality of West Elgin,for the Sharing of Municipal Building Department Staff; 2.
