HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law No. 2003-049 THE CORPORATION OF'I'HE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM BY-LAW 2003-049 A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 2002-98, BEING A BY-LAW TO ADOPT A NON-UNION PERSONNEL POLICY WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham passed By-Law No. 2002-98 to adopt a personnel policy for non-union employees December 19th,2002; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham deems it necessary and expedient to amend by-law 2002-98 to implement changes to the policy to ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000; NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT Section 4.4 of the said Non-Union Personnel Policy be and the same is hereby repealed, and replaced with the following: "4.4 Pregnancy and Parental Leave A pregnancy/parental leave of absence without pay shall be granted to all employees in accordance with the relevant provincial legislation. While an employee is on pregnancy/parental leave, maintenance of employee benefits will be administered in accordance with the applicable legislation on the following basis: i) Benefit plans for pensions, life insurance, accidental death, extended health, and dental shall continue unless the employee elects in writing not to do so and/or gives notice in writing that they do not intend to pay the employees premium contributions. In the event an employee wishes to extend a pregnancy/parental leave, the employee may make application in accordance with Section 4.1." 2. THAT Schedule "A-1" of the said Non-Union Personnel Policy, as amended, be and the same is hereby thither amended be deleting from within the Notes "Planning Administrator/Deputy Clerk red circled (Range $22.95 to $26.99)" and such amendment shall be effective January 1, 2003. 3.
