HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law No. 2001-092 CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM BY-LAW NO. 2001-92 BEING A BY-LAW TO FURTHER AMEND BY-LAW 98-34, A BY-LAW FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS the Municipal Act provides that the Council may by by-law establish and regulate a fire department; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham enacted and passed By-law No. 98-34 on July 2, 1998; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham did by By-laws 99-23 and 2000-85 amend By-law 98-34; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham now deems it necessary to further amend By-law No. 98-34; THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT Schedule"E"be amended by deleting the phrase "having at least five years service with the department ", and inserting "It is recommended that the member have at leastfive years service with the department". 2. THAT in all other respects, By-Law No. 98-34 as amended be and is hereby confirmed. READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 18Th DAY OF OCTOBER 2001. "y MAY CLERK SCHEDULE "E" TO BY-LAW NO. 98-34 AS AMENDED BY BY-LAW 2001-92 PROMOTIONAL POLICY Any member of the department may make application in writing to the Fire Chief to qualify him/her for a promotion in rank. It is recommended that the member have at least five years service with the department. The Fire Chief and Station Chief shall review all applications for promotion and the successful applicant shall be chosen based on the applicant's experience, fire and station record, training record and any tests and interviews as may be required by the Fire Chief. The name of the successful applicant along with the Fire Chief's recommendation for promotion shall be presented to the Administrator for final approval.
