BY-LAW NO. 99-84
BEING A BY-LAW TO GRANT SIGNING AUTHORITY
TO THE TREASURER AND THE MAYOR
WHEREAS Paragraph 1 of Section 79 of the Municipal Act. R.S.O., 1990, Chapter M.45, as
amended provides that cheques shall be signed by the treasurer and by some other person;
AND WHEREAS Paragraph 2(b) of Section 79 of the Municipal Act. R.S.O., 1990, Chapter
M.45, as amended provides that council may designate one or more persons to sign in lieu of the
treasurer;
AND WHEREAS Council now deems it necessary to rescind By-law No. 98-11 and enact and
pass a new By-law for this purpose.
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY
OF BAYHAM HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Treasurer and the Mayor are hereby granted the authority to sign cheques on
behalf of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham and that in the absence of either
the Treasurer or the Mayor,the Administrator is hereby granted signing authority.
2. That By-law 98-11 is hereby rescinded.
Read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 4th day of November, 1999.
