BY-LAW NO. 98- 67
A BY-LAW TO TEMPORARY STOP UP & CLOSE A ROAD DESIGNATED AS
ROBINSON STREET ACCORDING TO PLAN 12 IN THE VILLAGE OF PORT
BURWELL BETWEEN BROCK STREET AND PITT STREET
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 207 (44) of the Municipal Act, being Chapter M.45, R.S.O.
1990, as amended, a by-law may be passed by municipal councils for closing to vehicular traffic
on a temporary basis for such period as shall be specified in the by-law, any highway under the
jurisdiction of the council for such social, recreational and other interests specified in the Act;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham has been requested to temporarily
stop up and close the road designated as Robinson Street according to Plan 12 in the Village of
Port Burwell between Brock Street and Pitt Street on August 22, 1998 between 1400 and 1700
hours.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham now deems it
expedient and in the public interest to temporarily close that portion of the road allowance
mentioned above.
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY
OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the road allowance described as Robinson Street according to Plan 12 in
theVillage of Port Burwell between Brock Street and Pitt Street be temporarily stopped
up and closed on August 22,1998 between 1400 and 1700 hours.
2. THAT the Road Superintendent is hereby authorized to erect whatever signs and
barricades are necessary to enforce this by-law and to notify the public that the road is
stopped up and closed for the above-mentioned period.
3. THAT the property owners and their families owning property adjacent to the road
allowance shall be exempt form the provisions of this by-law in order that they have free
and unrestricted access to their property during the closure period.
