BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 98-10
A BY-LAW TO CONFIRM ONGOING
PARTICIPATION IN THE ONTARIO MUNICIPAL
EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT BOARD (OMERS)
PROGRAM
WHEREAS Section 5 of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Systems Act,
(OMERS Act),R.S.O. 1990, Chapter 0.29 and Regulation 890 as amended, a
municipality may by by-law participate in OMERS on behalf of its employees and pay to
the OMERS Pension Fund the total of the employer and member contributions, and has
all the powers necessary and incidental thereto;
AND WHEREAS the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham did pass By-law 98-10
to participate in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement Program;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham now
deems it necessary to amend By-law No. 98-10;
THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM
HEREBY ENACTS THAT BY-LAW NO. 98-10 BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
THAT Section 7 be deleted
Read a first and second time this 18th day of June, 1998.
