MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM
BY-LAW NO. 98 -35
BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND
CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF ONTARIO AS
REPRESENTED BY THE MINISTRY OF THE MUNICIPAL
AFFAIRS AND HOUSING WITH RESPECT TO THE
RESTRUCTURING GRANT UNDER THE ONTARIO
MUNICIPAL SUPPORT GRANTS ACT
WHEREAS the Province of Ontario has initiated a municipal restructuring fund program to assist
municipalities with costs incurred immediately associated with restructuring that are necessary for
long-term savings, including providing assistance related to restructuring costs incurred by former
municipalities;
AND WHEREAS the Municipality has become liable for or has incurred or will incur
restructuring costs and has applied to the Minister in 1998 for assistance under the municipal
restructuring fund program;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to enter into an Agreement with the Ministry of
Municipal Affairs and Housing so that the Ministry will provide funding to the Municipality of
Bayham.
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY
OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with the
Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for funding of the costs associated with
restructuring the former municipalities of the Villages of Vienna, Port Burwell and the
Township of Bayham.
2. THAT the said Agreement is attached hereto as Schedule 'A' and forms a part of this by-
law.
3. THAT this by-law shall come into full force and effect upon final passing.
READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME this 30th day of April, 1998.
READ A THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED this 30th day of April, 1998.
