BY-LAW NUMBER 98-11
BEING A BY-LAW TO GRANT SIGNING AUTHORITY
TO THE ADMINISTRATOR/TREASURER AND THE
MAYOR
WHEREAS municipalities are required to grant authority for individuals to sign cheques
on behalf of the Corporation;
AND WHEREAS by Order of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing dated May
15, 1997, effective January 1, 1998,the former Village of Port Burwell,Village of
Vienna and Township of Bayham were amalgamated as the Corporation of the
Municipality of Bayham;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham now
deems it expedient to grant authority for the signing of cheques on behalf of the
municipality.
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the Administrator/Treasurer is hereby granted the authority to sign
cheques on behalf of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham and that in
the absence of the Administrator/Treasurer, the Mayor is hereby granted signing
authority.
2. THAT all previous by-laws enacted and passed by the former Township of
Bayham, Village of Port Burwell and Village of Vienna are hereby rescinded.
READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME this 8th day of January, 1998.
READ A THIRD TIME AND FINALY PASSED this 8th day of January, 1998.
