"COVID-19" —is a disease caused by anew strain of coronavirus —'CO' stands for corona, `VI' for virus and `D' for disease identified in February 2020 2. "Municipality of Bayham" — The Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham is the owner and operator of the Port Burwell Marine Museum & Lighthouse 3. "Plan" — COVID-19 Pandemic Workplace Safety Plan 4. "PPE" — Personal Protective Equipment is special equipment one wears to create a barrier between oneself and germs 5. "Bubble" — is an unofficial term used to describe the cluster of people outside one's household with whom one feels comfortable spending time during the pandemic INTRODUCTION In response to a phased approach to return to work following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Municipality of Bayham has developed a Workplace Safety Plan (Plan) to outline steps and processes to be followed to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff, customers, and the public. COVID-19 can be spread at the workplace in two main ways: 1. person to person - people who are in close contact 2. surfaces or objects - people touching their face with contaminated hands The risk of getting COVID-19 is higher if: 1. spending time with potentially infected people 2. working in close proximity to others 3. interacting with more people 4. working in more enclosed spaces (working indoors is riskier than working outdoors) C0VID-19 Pandemic Workplace Safety Plan — Marine Museum and Historic Lighthouse June 2021 The preceding facts influence decisions regarding re -opening, and the Plan is as follows: 1. Timelines and conditions for the resumption of the programs and services for the Museum and Lighthouse to the community are dependent on the decisions made by the Province of Ontario, Southwestern Public Health and the Municipality of Bayham. 2. Some responses to the pandemic may be temporary or permanent in nature and will have an impact on how the Museum and Lighthouse will operate and what services they can provide in the future. 3. The Plan will change and evolve in response to a rapidly changing environment 4. The safety of staff and patrons will, as always, be of paramount priority. In order to meet the service expectations of both groups, staff will return to a safe work environment as soon as possible, and patrons will be provided with levels of service that will provide them with a safe and pleasant visitor experience. MUSEUM AND LIGHTHOUSE SAFETY Employees The following procedures will be followed: 1. A health screening disclosure form is to be completed daily. If any employee fails the screening process, they will be instructed to go home. If they suspect they will fail, they should not come into work. 2. Sign in any time you enter a building which is not your primary location. This information will be used to contact employees who have worked in the same facility as someone who is probable or confirmed for the coronavirus. 3. Hands are to be sanitized upon entry. Physical distancing wherever possible, staying at least 2 meters (6 feet) from others. If the interaction is necessary and you are unable to physical distance, PPE must be worn including masks, goggles and other protective measures as instructed 4.
