Home My WebLink AboutBy-law No. 2014-017 THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM BY-LAW NO 2014-017 BEING A BY-LAW TO REPEAL BY-LAW 2012-125, AND TO ASSIGN NAMES TO HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND ROADS INCLUDING PRIVATE ROADS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM FOR MUNICIPAL EMERGENCY AND MAINTENANCE PURPOSES. WHEREAS Sections 27(1) and 48 of the Municipal Act 2001, 5.0. 2001, c.25 permits Councils of local municipalities to pass by-laws in respect of a highway and a private road; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham enacted and passed By-law 2012-125 on December 6, 2012; AND WHEREAS Council now deems it expedient and necessary to repeal By-law 2012- 125; AND WHEREAS Council is desirous of assigning names to highways, streets and roads, including private roads for municipal emergency and maintenance purposes; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham recognizes that"Howard Street"in Port Burwell is not a public road allowance but rather a private road; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham has been petitioned by the public to rename the said private road and has directed that the necessary steps be taken to change the name from"Howard Street"to "Submariners Way"; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham deems it necessary to enact a by-law that will assign names to highways, streets and roads, including private roads for municipal emergency and maintenance purposes; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT By-law 2012-125 be hereby repealed; 2. THAT the name of the private road in Port Burwell known as Howard Street be changed to Submariners Way; 3. THAT for municipal purposes,By-law No. 2014-017, including all municipal road names identified in Schedules "A"through Schedule"E" and attached hereto and forming part of this By-law shall be enacted and passed; 4. THAT this By-law shall be referred to as "The 2014 Municipal Road Name By- law": 2 of 9 5. AND THAT this By-law shall be in full force and effect upon the date of its enactment.
