BY-LAW NO. 2012-121
A BY-LAW TO APPOINT AN ACTING DEPUTY MAYOR FOR
THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM
WHEREAS Section 225 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, C.25, provides that the Mayor
of a Municipality is the head of Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the
Corporation;
AND WHEREAS Section 242 of the said Municipal Act provides that a municipality
may, by by-law appoint a member of Council to act in the place of the head of Council
when the head of Council is absent;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham deems
it necessary and expedient to appoint a member of the Council of the Corporation to act
in the place and stead of the Mayor of the Corporation on those occasions when the head
of Council is absent;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Councillor/j,y 24,g „J" is hereby appointed to act
from time to time in the folace and stead of the Mayor of the Corporation of the
Municipality of Bayham;
2. AND THAT while so acting in the place and stead of the Mayor of the
Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham as mentioned in Section 1 of this by-
law, L-J , shall be known as the Acting
Deputy Mayr of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham and shall have
and may exercise all rights, powers and authorities of the head of Council of the
Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham.
3. AND THAT said appointment shall terminate upon the filling of the vacancy of
the position of Deputy Mayor on a permanent basis;
4. AND THAT this by-law shall come into full force and effect upon final passing.
