HomeMy WebLinkAboutOctober 16, 2008 - Council COUNCIL MINUTES THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM 9344 Plank Road, Straffordville Thursday October 16, 2008 7:00 p.m. The regular meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Bayham was held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 in the Council Chambers. Present were Mayor Lynn Acre, Deputy Mayor Cliff Evanitski, Councillors Mark Taylor, Wayne Casier and Ed Ketchabaw, Administrator Kyle Kruger and Deputy Clerk Margaret Underhill. 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Acre called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST & THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF None 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting of Council held October 2, 2008 2008-502 Moved by W Casier Seconded by E Ketchabaw "THAT minutes of the regular meeting of Council held October 2,2008 be approved as circulated." Disposition: Motion Carried Unanimously ADDED ITEM 2008-503 Moved by M Taylor Seconded by W Casier "THAT in accordance with Section 21 of Procedural By-law 2002-93, a delegation by Wanda Hoshal regarding Estherville Cemetery be added to the agenda as item 4(a)." DELEGATIONS ADDED ITEM 7:05 a.m. —Wanda Hoshal—was in attendance regarding concerns of construction taking place next to the Estherville Cemetery. She distributed a handout to Council which was a copy of Page 49 from the Bayham Memories and Milestones publication. 5. Disposition: Motion Carried (c) Staff Report L2008-02 regarding confidential legal matter. 2008-513 Moved by E Ketchabaw Seconded by M Taylor Council Minutes -252 - October 16, 2008 "THAT Confidential Staff Report L2008-02 be received; AND THAT staff be authorized to issue a letter of Comment to the OEB regarding application filed by Union Gas August 1, 2008, as generally outlined in confidential report L2008-02. That the Municipality of Bayham issue a letter of support regarding the request by the Town of Aylmer for Intervenor status in the upcoming Ontario Energy Board proceedings with respect to Natural Resources Gas Limited (NRG), and in support of their position. That staff be authorized to continue discussions with the Town of Aylmer and area municipalities regarding upcoming franchise agreement discussions.
