Box 160,9344 Plank Road STRAFFORDVILLE, ONTARIO Wednesday,March 5,2008 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. The fifth budget meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Bayham was held in the Committee Room. Present were Mayor Lynn Acre, Deputy Mayor Cliff Evanitski, Councillors Wayne Casier, Mark Taylor and Ed Ketchabaw, Administrator Kyle Kruger, Clerk Lynda Millard and Treasurer Suzanna Mantel. 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Acre called the meeting to order at 6:00 p. m 2. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST & THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF None 3. CORRESPONDENCE (a) Correspondence dated February 12,2008 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation declining support for the Vienna Library project. Discussion included estimates for Vienna Library upgrades. In response to a request from the Vienna Library group, Council agreed to hear a delegation at the Thursday Council meeting. 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (a) Draft 2008 budget. File: F05.08 Discussion included: • addition of strategic planning sessions facilitated by a professional - $4,000; • reduction to general government utilities by $2,000 to $9,000; • reduction to Fire Department uniforms; • tourism&marketing salaries reduced to $10,500; • interpretive centre operations reduced to $1,200; • trail signage—utilize $7,500 from the reserve; • reduction from five to four public works summer students; • advertising and promotion • utilization of the STP propane steam power washer for weed control; • salt shed proposed grant and options. Disposition: Motion Carried Unanimously 2008-127 Moved by W Casier Seconded by M Taylor "THAT staff be authorized to confirm contract arrangements with iCompass Technologies regarding their Civic Web Meeting Management services." Disposition: Motion Carried Unanimously 5. BY-LAW By-law 2008-030 A By-law to confirm all actions of Council 2008-128 Moved by W Casier Seconded by Cliff Evanitski "THAT confirming By-law 2008-030 be read a first, second and third time and finally passed." Disposition: Motion Carried Unanimously 6.
