A Budget meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Bayham was held beginning at 5:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in the Committee Room. Present were Mayor Lynn Acre, Deputy
Mayor Cliff Evanitski, Councillors Mark Taylor, Wayne Casier and Ed Ketchabaw,
Administrator Kyle Kruger, Clerk Lynda Millard and Treasurer Suzanna Mantel.
1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Acre called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m.

(a) Revised 2007 draft budget.

The Treasurer advised that the revised budget incorporating all changes to date result in
an increase to the tax rate of 3.2%over the 2006 budget. She circulated a revised
museums budget based on the hiring of six students only.
It was agreed to remove the laptop computer for a$5,000 reduction in the museums
capital costs. The operating budget was amended as follows: Grounds maintenance
reduced to $2,500, Sundry to $2,500 and Advertising to $2,000.
Staff was requested to again submit a Trillium application including funding for a
curator.
Council requested staff to seek further details on the use of gas tax rebates for roads
capital projects.
Deputy Mayor Evanitski provided an update on the request by the Joint Cemeteries
Board to seek funding for a cemeteries project. He suggested utilizing one of the
proposed public works students for support of the project.
Councillor Casier updated on the search for a site for the Vienna Library, advising that
re-location to the Vienna Community Centre is not recommended by the Committee.
