The regular meeting of the Council of the Municipality of Bayharn was held beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday,January 20,2005 in Council Chambers. Present were Mayor Lynn Acre,Deputy Mayor
Mathew Schafer,Councillors Mark Taylor,Paul Ens and Cliff Evanitski,Administrator Kyle Kruger and
Clerk Lynda Millard. The Administrator and Clerk vacated Council Chambers during discussion of item
11:2(a).
Planning Co-ordinator Margaret Underhill,Chief Building Official/Drainage Inspector Dwayne Daniel
and Fire Chief Sam Taylor were in attendance to present their respective reports.

"THAT the draft minutes of the Bayham Economic Development&Tourism Committee be
received;
AND THAT Staff be directed to send letters to the local M.P. and M.P.P. in support of the
efforts of Mr.Bev Hickey and Mr.Ron Bradfield to obtain funding for dredging,and for
any necessary studies to determine options for works that will reduce harbour dredging
requirements;
AND THAT Staff be directed to prepare a report to Council for an application under the
Rural Economic Development Program for downtown improvements 1 beautification,
including improved beach washroom facilities and pier repairs and improvements."

the Engineers to make an examination of the drainage area and prepare a preliminary
report for Council's consideration, on or after February 11, 2005 to allow Long Point
Conservation Authority 30 days in which to comment;
AND THAT Staff be directed to mail notices for the on-site meeting to be held with the
engineers,to all persons assessed to this drainage works,in accordance with the Drainage
Act."

"WHEREAS the County of Elgin passed an increase of 17%in its 2004 budget;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Bayham
requests that the County of Elgin strive to limit any tax rate increase in 2005 to a minimum
amount, suggested not to exceed 3%."
