HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law No. 2000-103 CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM BY-LAW NO. 2000-103 A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM AND LONDON CENTRAL AMBULANCE COMMUNICATIONS CENTRE (C.A.C.C.) FOR THE ACTIVATION OF TIERED RESPONSE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham is desirous of entering into an agreement for the activation of Tiered Response with the London Central Ambulance Communications Centre(C.A.C.C.); THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAYHAM ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT the Mayor and Fire Chief be and are hereby authorized to execute the Agreement attached hereto as Schedule"A" and forming part of this by-law between London Central Ambulance Communications Centre(C.A.C.C.) and the Municipality of Bayham for the activation of tiered response. 2. THAT this by-law shall come into full force and effect upon final passing. READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 19th DAY OF DECEMBER 2000. MAYOR DEPUTY CLERK SCHEDULE "A" LETTER OF AGREEMENT BY-LAW 2000-103 FOR THE ACTIVATION OF TIERED RESPONSE The M u-rs;e;peti;kj of. &yhan..Fire Department will be notified by the London Central Ambulance Communications Centre(C.A.C.C.)using the following criteria to all emergencies within their normal area of response: All Code 4 Urgent Calls (This Call Refers To Situations Of A Life Or Limb Threatening Nature And Time Is Critical) As soon as it is determined that the call meets the criteria for an urgent(Code 4)response,the calltaker will commit the cal I to the ambulance dispatcher. The calitaker will notify the fire dispatching service that is responsible for the dispatching of this fire department and advise "this is the ambulance dispatch. We have a medical first response for(address,type of call.)". The fire dispatch will determine which department, if any will respond as per their established criteria. This agreement acknowledges that Fire Responses take precedence over medical emergency responses. The Fire Department will not be held responsible for any failure to respond which is caused by factors beyond their control. Likewise the London Central Ambulance Communications Centre will not be held responsible for any failure to notify or a delay in notifying the fire department listed above.
