BY-LAW NUMBER 2026-036
Being a by-law to designate a Community Improvement Project Area
WHEREAS the official plan for the Municipality of Bayham contains provisions relating
to community improvement in the municipality;
AND WHEREAS Section 28(1) defines a Community Improvement Project Area as "a
municipality or an area within a municipality, the community improvement of which in
the opinion of the council is desirable because of age, dilapidation, overcrowding, faulty
arrangement, unsuitability of buildings or for any other environmental, social or
community economic development reason";
AND WHEREAS Section 28(2) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended,
authorizes Council to designate the whole or any part of a municipality covered by the
official plan as a Community Improvement Project Area;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham deems it
in the interest of the municipality to designate the entirety of the municipality as a
Community Improvement Project Area for the purpose of implementing the updated
Elgincentives Community Improvement Plan;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham
hereby enacts as follows:
1. THAT the entirety of the Municipality of Bayham, being composed of all lands
shown on Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of this By-law, is hereby
designated a Community Improvement Project Area pursuant to Section 28(2) of
the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990. C. P.13, as amended.
2, THAT this By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day it is passed by
Council.
