Council Highlights
Centralized Planning Services Presentation
Elgin County’s Director of Planning and Development, Mat Vaughan , presented
information to Council on the potential of transitioning Planning Services through
County Staff. The County has two other local municipalities on board with this model
and are seeing positive results. Council directed staff to report back with further
information in Q4 of 2025 on what this transition could look like.
IT Procurement
Council received a Report from the Clerk on the need to replace expiring laptops and
desktops in 2025 and 2026. The Report outlined that after a fulsome review of all
devices, eight devices are needed before the end of 2025 and that costs could be
included under Capital item GG-06 with any overages to this item to be funded
through the working capital reserve. Council approved this.
Extension to Site Plan SPA-03/23
Council received an informational Report regarding an extension issued to a Site
Plan Agreement with Phil Mauer and Associates at 56954 Eden Line.
Long Point Region Conservation Authority Board Appointment
Deputy Mayor Rainey Weisler resigned from her appointment as the
Bayham/Malahide representative of the Long Point Region Conservation Authority
Board. Council accepted the resignation and appointed Mayor Ed Ketchabaw to be
the representative for the remainder of the term. The correspondence is to be
provided to the Township of Malahide for approval and subsequently to Long Point
Region Conservation Authority for information.
