Council Highlights
Port Burwell East Beach – Paid Parking Options
Council received a report from the By-law Enforcement Officer to discuss the
opportunity of initiating paid parking at the Port Burwell East Beach. The r eport
proposed utilizing Honk Mobile and conducting a trial period beginning this year if
Council desired to do so. Council referred the report to the Waterfront Advisory
Committee for further comment.
Development Reports
Four development reports were presented and approved:
Official Plan Conformity Review – Estimated Timelines and Budget
Consent Application E18-24
Consent Application E22-24
Ontario Land Tribunal Final Order – Barry Wade Homes Inc. OPA & ZBA
Municipal Assistance & Special Event Requests
A report was presented with draft policies for Council’s consideration of the
“Municipal Assistance” process. Staff proposed two channels of applications for
community groups to apply for funding through Council, and event related matters
through staff. Council directed staff to report back with one policy to house both
channels of approvals to go through Council.
OPP Detachment Board
The new Community Safety and Policing Act comes into force and effect as of April
1, 2024. Some board compositions may change under these new regulations,
however, Elgin OPP Detachment will remain the same. Support from Council for
Dominique Giguere to remain the Bayham/Malahide representative was approved.
Bayham Strategic Plan Progress
A report was presented to Council to outline completed projects within 2023 that fall
in line with the Strategic Plan Initiatives.
License Agreement – 21 Robinson Street
An updated License Agreement with 21 Robinson Street was approved. Bayham may
use the surrounding lands for stabilization measures of the Lighthouse until
December 31, 2025.
