Council Highlights
Delegations
Council received delegations from Food Cycle Science and St. Thomas Elgin Local
Immigration Partnership that were received for information.
Planning Public Meeting
Council held a Planning Public Meeting for two (2) applications. Zoning By-laws for
ZBA-06/23, Gregory Underhill Farms Ltd. and ZBA-07/23, Crevits will be considered
at a future meeting of Council.
Vienna Community Park Multi-Use Court RFP 23-02 Award
Council awarded RFP 23-02, being a proposal to construct a Multi-Use Court in the
Vienna Community Park to Rail Tech Enterprises Inc. in the amount of $111,456.00
+HST. Council chose the option for a double court and any overages to be funded
through a combination of the Parks & Playground Reserve and Parkland Reserve
Fund.
2nd Quarter Drainage Report
Council received the 2nd quarter drainage report for information.
Development Reports
Council received three (3) development reports including two (2) consent
applications, E50-23 Unger & E57-23 Algar Farms Limited, and a report on the
Draft Provincial Planning Statement (PPS) 2023 Review. Council recommended
approval for both consent applications with conditions to the Elgin County Land
Division Committee and directed staff to submit comments to the Province on the
Draft PPS 2023 Review.
Correspondence Received
Council received a number of correspondence for information and formally supported
a motion from the City of Quinte West regarding Legislative Amendments to Improve
Municipal Codes of Conduct and Enforcement.
Rogers Communication Tower – Straffordville Fire Hall
Council received a draft agreement to consider for a Rogers Communication Tower
to be placed at the Straffordville Fire Hall. Council agreed to enter into a
Telecommunications Site Agreement with Rogers Communications Inc. after such
time as a complete Siting Justification Report and Site Plan have been provided and
the Federal statutory public notice and comment period have been completed.
RSM Building Consultants Inc. – Agreement for Shared Building Services
Council delegated authority to the CAO to execute an Agreement with RSM Building
Consultants Inc. on behalf of the Municipality for building support services in support
of an established Building shared service with the Township of Malahide
