Council Highlights
Capstone Infrastructure Municipal Support Resolution
Capstone Infrastructure delegated to Council, requesting a Municipal Support
Resolution (MSR) to support of their submission to an IESO LT1 Request for
Proposals to proceed with plans to establish a 50 MW energy storage facility in
Bayham.
Council was supportive of the endeavour and authorized the Mayor to sign the MSR
on behalf of Council. The MSR does not supersede any planning or site plan
approvals required to proceed with the project, if awarded.
Procurement
Council reward a Report regarding the procurement of a Tandem truck for the Public
Works department. The Municipality used Canoe Procurement Group of Canada for
the procurement, and saved time and money in issuing and awarding the tender.
Council awarded the Tender to Viking Cives Ltd. Delivery of the truck is planned for
Q1 2025.
Planning
Council was presented with two Planning reports for consideration – one rezoning
and one consent. The rezoning application was adopted, while the consent
application was recommended as a deferral item to Elgin County Land Division,
pending amendments by the applicant.
2024 Municipal Insurance Program
A Report on the results of RFP 23-03 – General Insurance and Risk Management
Services – was received. Council awarded the 2024 Municipal Insurance Program to
Marsh Canada Limited in accordance with their proposal. Marsh has been the
Municipal Insurer of record since 2020.
