Highlights
Beach House Lane Development Refused
A Delegation by Laverne Kirkness, Agent for Barry Wade Homes Inc., was received
by Council regarding the proposed Beachhouse Lane development in Port Burwell.
Council also received the Planner’s Report regarding the Beachhouse Lane
development. The Planner’s recommendation was to approve the application.
However, Council motioned to refuse the application for the Official Plan Amendment
to permit Site-Specific Multi-Unit Residential development, citing concerns regarding
proposed density, slope stability, and traffic impacts.
Bench Sponsorship Program
Council received a Report on the Bayham Bench Sponsorship Program and directed
staff to return to Council will an amended Policy that considered existing benches
while providing for increased costs and updated provisions for the installation of new
benches in Bayham through the Program.
Consent Applications Supported
Council supported three Consent applications, which will be forwarded to the Elgin
County Land Division Committee for further consideration.
Correspondence Received
Correspondence from Paul Trombley was received for Action. Staff was directed to
bring back to Council a Report on the potential impacts of charity property tax relief.
2022 Snow and Windstorm Debrief
The CAO|Clerk presented an information report to Council regarding the December
23-25, 2022 Snow and Windstorm. Areas of improvement were identified by staff,
including upgraded infrastructure and additional facility partnerships. These changes
will be included in a future, revised Emergency Response Plan for Bayham.
Shared Service By-law Passed
Council adopted a By-law to formally enter into a Shared Service arrangement with
the Township of Malahide for the mutual provision of Building, Planning, and By-law
Enforcement services.
