6. MATTERS OUT OF THE MINUTES
a) Edison Fest Committee: M.Schafer reported that there will be a
follow-up meeting on June 21 @ Vienna Park Pavilion.
b) Parging Edison Museum: Paul Reimer still has not shown up to
do the parging. B.Hickey has called again.
c) Damage to Marine Museum's Siding: It appears as if the vertical
siding at the back of the building has gotten snagged on a lawnmower
as it passed by. The siding has been pulled away. Since the damage is
not visible, and since it isn't known how long ago the damage was
done or by whom, and since it appears that it can be bent back and
screwed tight, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman will try to get it
fixed.
d) Sandy's Walk: A Walk-a-thon for Pearce Williams Christian
Camp will pass through Vienna on July 4. Summer staff will provide
a tour of Edison Museum at this time.
e) Oxford County Historical Society Tour: This group of 22 people
toured the Anglican Church cemetery, the Marine Museum &
Lighthouse, with almost all climbing to the top of the lighthouse.
After lunching at Schooners Galley they then toured the Edison
Museum. B.Hickey and C.Buchanan provided staffing for both tours
since the summer staff were away being trained.
8. NEW BUISNESS:
a) Donation of Display Cases: Museum Bayham received two sturdy
display cases, one for each of our museums. B.Hickey has sent a thank you
letter.
b) Donation of Planters & Flowers from Horticultural Society: The PB
Horticultural Society provided new cast iron planters filled with soil and
plants for the front entrance of the Marine Museum. They also removed
some excess ornamental grass which was obscuring the "barn quilt".
B.Hickey has sent a "thank you" letter.
