Motion Carried. (a) Request for discussion of a potential acquisition of property. Susan Start reported that there is a 5.16 acre parcel of land for sale in Vienna at the bottom of the hill by the old Edison cemetery. It has recently been reduced in price from $115,000 to $99,000 so it appears that the owner/realtor (Vane Chute) is eager to sell. Susan's investigation found that this property was once owned by the Edison family. She proposes that this property would be a more suitable site for the future Edison Museum than the existing site at the top of the hill on Plank Road because of its close proximity to the Edison cemetery and the Edison Homestead plaque and its visibility from Plank Road It was suggested that perhaps Vane Chute would trade properties if the values are similar. It was agreed that it was worth a discussion with Vane Chute. It was agreed that this issue falls under the jurisdiction of the New Edison Museum Building Committee and should be left to them to pursue. It was moved by L.Acre and seconded by B.Masschaele that we do rise out of the in-camera session. Motion Carried. 4 / ✓ w gft.4 1/
