Present: Chair—Bev Hickey, Vice Chair- Chuck Buchanan, Mat Schafer, Albert White, Ron Bradfield, Kimberly Legg, Ray Maddox, Ally Shelley. Regrets: Susan Start 1. Call to Order Chair Bev Hickey called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm and welcomed Ally Shelley to the Board. 1. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest None. 2. Appointment of a New Secretary It was moved by Mat Schafer and seconded by Chuck Buchanan that Kimberly Legg be appointed as the new Secretary. Motion Carried. 3. Review of Items Not on the Agenda None. It was moved by Ray Maddox and seconded by Albert White that the Agenda be approved as presented. Motion Carried. 5. Announcements None. 6. Delegation(s) None. 7. Approval of Previous Minutes It was moved by Chuck Buchanan and seconded by Ally Shelley that the minutes of the December 9, 2015 meeting be approved. Motion Carried. 8. Correspondence None. 9. Unfinished Business: A. London Boat Show The volunteer list for London Boat Show passes for Booth Attendants is to be submitted by January 23, 2016. The Boat Show is held February 19, 20, 21 Items to be displayed will be loaded either Thursday or Friday for the 10'x10' booth. Badges can be picked up when the booth is set up. Several members submitted their names as volunteers for this event. There may be volunteers from the Historical Society as well. Names are to be submitted to Bev before January 23rd. A schedule for volunteers will be confirmed at the February meeting. Chuck also shared a map of the booth and arena. 10. New Business. A. Museums Bayham/Council Discussion: Edison Museum Future. A special meeting will be held on Thursday, Janaury 28th at 6:30 in the Council Chambers. This meeting will be devoted to the subject of the Edison Museum future. Museum Bayham members and all of the sub-committee members are invited to attend. Matt will ensure the sub- committee members are aware of this meeting. B. Telephone Answering Service There was discussion regarding the need for an answering machine or call-forwarding for the museums. This would support the ability to answer inquiries when the museums are not open. It was moved by Albert White and seconded by Chuck Buchanan that we recommend to Council that call forwarding be arranged for the Lighthouse and Marine Museum and the Edison Museum to the Municipal Office. Motion Carried. 11. Finances (budget) Report on Council Budget Deliberations January 5,2016. The Museums Bayham budget was passed as presented on our final draft submitted to Council. The exception was a change to the line reflecting the Edison museum, with a reduction to reflect a limited operation this year. There is a need to increase attendance to help reduce the cost of operations. Council approved the creation of a position for a Part-time Curator, and a job description will be created and posted. There will be students hired again as well this year. 12. Other Business A. Brochures: The municipality has an adequate number of brochures for advertising this year. However, 3 of the brochures need alterations to reflect current museum status. Staff will provide stickers to be placed in the brochures. Kimberly will arrange to place stickers in 100 of each of the brochures before the Boat Show for distribution there. Additional brochures can be updated with stickers as needed. B. For Interest: Ron Bradfield shared the photo of the Port Burwell lighthouse on the cover of this year's telephone book. In addition, the Lighthouse is featured in a current'Lighthouses of Canada' calendar from Wyman Publishing (August photo) 13. Next Meeting Wednesday, February 10th, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Municipal office. 14.
