Museum Curator Job Ad.doc(43kB) Museum Curator Job Description-2016.doc (73kB)
Good Morning Bev—Attached please find Museum Curator Job Ad as well as Job Description to be considered and
discussed by Museums Bayham at the next meeting, which I believe is Wednesday, March 9.
Specifically we ask the board consider and provide comment I clarification regarding the time frame of the curator position.
Initially it was understood that the curator position should begin prior to student hiring. This would enable the curator to be
involved in the hiring process of the students as well as to develop work plans for the students for the season. It is felt this
would provide more benefit than assisting with final reports at the end of the season which could be accomplished by the
students.
The plan of the Municipality is to post the ad by the end of next week. In that regard we request comment from the Board
Thursday, March 10. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi Bev
We have been offered the following books, signed by a local author, Lyal Tait, currently held by a museum member of the
EON group:Tobacco Indians in Canada,Tobacco in Canada and The Edisons of Vienna_
Mr Tait used to be a local tobacco farmer.
The Municipality has the rights to reprint the Edisons book, and has been making copies for some time, however, I do not
know whether any of the books we have were signed by the author.
Please ask the Museums Bayham Board at your next meeting to consider whether they wish to acquire these books. If they
decline, I would suggest they recommend that they go to the Elgin County Archives, if they want them.
I've sent Brian Masschaele an email asking whether he would be interested in having them for the Archives, should the
board decline to acquire them.
Thanks for your help

Hi Bev
I heard back from Brian Masschaele and the Archives would be interested in having the Tait
books if the Museums Board members are not interested in keeping these local.
When Brian checked Inmagic he did not get any results to indicate that they are currently in
the Edison collection.
