Dear Thomas: 2.Polar Ridge Snowmobile Please register my position against granting permission to the snowmobile club to use the unopened Union St and Queen St road allowances for snowmobile use. I use part of the Queen St road allowance to access my basement and workshop via a driveway that connects to the street. It would be unnecessarily hazardous to have my car enter the street with snowmobiles running past. The driveway entrance is blinded by high earthen banks on each side. No trespassing signage normally used on snowmobile paths to prevent dangerous interactions with pedestrians and other traffic are unacceptable here because my neighbour, Steve Strauss, and I both use the Queen St road allowance to gain access to our properties. Many neighbours, myself included, use the road allowance paths for personal exercise outings and walking the dog, year ‘round. The noise generated by snowmobiles passing under my bedroom window next to the Queen St road allowance will be a significant source of stress for my wife and I. Sincerely, Rick Holley Richard A. Please use caution when clicking links or opening attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Mr. Thayer, I am writing in relation to the request from the Polar Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club request re: Snowmobile Trail Land Use on Queen St., and beyond. I am vehemently opposed to this for the following reasons: This is a residential area and having snow machines running through the day/night is highly disruptive to the community There are sickly residents in the area in addition to front line workers that work shifts at all hours that will be adversely effected The proposed trail is on Municipal land and used frequently by tax paying citizens as a form of recreation There are plenty of other areas outside of the village of Vienna where the federation can enjoy the joys of snowmobiling; there is no compelling reason to have the trail located at this proposed location If this were to be seriously considered, it should be voted upon by the residents of Vienna and not the Counsil who does not reside in the area I respectfully request that this correspondence be written in the agenda and subsequent comments/discussion be reflected in the minutes. I would also like to be provide the link to attend the meeting on Dec.16/21. Excerpt of the letter dated December 9/21 is as follows: “Wish to follow road to trail on Centre St to Fulton St and then Union St and would like toutilize the road right of way to Queen St extension “. My husband and I would like our say to be registered AGAINST granting permission to the snowmobile club to the road trail within the “ “ mentioned above. The following is some of our concerns to date as to why this proposal is unacceptable:1) Residential with more houses to be built in the near future 2) Noise3) Safety - speed, weather conditions 4) Respect of our property 5) Timeframe of use of these said “trails” 6) Devaluation of our property/home(s) It was also mentioned that ATV’s (which our own bylaw is having a hard time policing) arenot allowed on OFSC trails in this area so my question is as follows: Who will be monitoring and/or in control of these trails? P.s. part of this trail would pass beside a small animal farm which could subject these animals to unnecessary fright. Sincerely Jan and Marv Boles Diane Agius 41 Union Street Vienna, On N0J1Z0 To: Council for the Municipality of Bayham Please register my position against granting permission to The Polar Ridge Snowmobile club the use of any streets in Vienna. This is residential not recreational. It is not safe nor do we want to here snowmobiles or any motorized vehicles on our streets. Sincerely Diane Agius
