REPORT: TR-16/21 SUBJECT: ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION – RESILIENT COMMUNITIES FUND
BACKGROUND
The Resilient Communities Fund –provides support for non-profits, Indigenous communities, and municipalities that have been impacted by COVID-19 to support their medium to longer-term recovery efforts and help rebuild their capacity and resiliency. Funding is available for projects that align with at least one of the Resilient Communities Fund outcomes to help organizations address their diverse needs and support them to rebuild and recover. Following is OTF desired project outcomes:
• Equip board members and employees with supports to implement new approaches, prepare for change and build resiliency.
• Improve and increase ability to access financial resources and develop new and/or alternative sources of revenue.
• Adapt or re-imagine the delivery of programs and services to meet the needs of the community, employees and volunteers.
• Procure equipment or renovate spaces to meet the needs of the organization to be able to safely deliver its programs and services, and/or to adapt to new ways of working.
• Create and/or adopt new approaches for organizations to work together to meet the needs of communities.
Applications will be starting November 10, 2021. Application deadline is December 8, 2021 at 5pm EST.
Organizations can apply for up to 100% of their total eligible expenses up to a maximum of $150,000, with municipalities with a population up to 20,000 being eligible to submit an application.
• Eligible project costs will be supported up to a maximum of $150,000.
• Minimum request amount is $5,000. DISCUSSION
Assessment of the Municipality of Bayham Multi-Year Capital Budget identifies the following projects:
• FA-15 Council Chamber Upgrades (2025) – for a Hybrid of in-person and online meetings
Staff are seeking Council support and direction regarding this application. Specifically, direction to
obtain accurate costing for the technology required to implement a hybrid meeting solution in the
Council Chambers, which staff would bring back to Council in a future report seeking direction to
potentially submit an application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation – Resilient Communities Fund. RECOMMENDATION
1. THAT Report TR-16/21 re Ontario Trillium Foundation – Resilient Communities Fund be received for information; 2. AND THAT staff be directed to bring to Council costing estimates for the identified capital works and potential Ontario Trillium Foundation – Resilient Communities Fund grant application.
