8. Unfinished Business
(a) E.O.N. meeting in Tillsonburg on Thursday November 2"d-Verbal Report
Bev Hickey, Chuck Buchanan, Lynda Millard and Jennifer Beauchamp attended the November
E.O.N. meeting. Chuck Buchanan reports that due to the concern regarding most Norfolk
County members not attending meetings the group was debating on changing their name.
Chuck reminded to the E.O.N. members that not all Norfolk County members have ceased
attending meetings altogether and the name should continue to reflect this.
Instead, a new trade name was decided on to make the group more marketable. Mike Baker
from the Elgin County Museum is upgrading the locations map brochure for the organisations in
E.O.N. and is looking to make the group more marketable. The name "E.O.N" is not a
memorable name to the public for advertising purposes.
Chuck will confirm and report back on the name change at the next meeting.

9. New Business
(a) Wheelhouse placement- site plan attached for information; subject to final Council
approval
Final approval for the position of the Wheelhouse at the Marine Museum will be come to Council
for authorisation November 16th, 2017. The location of the Wheelhouse will change the position
of the sidewalk to Pitt Street, but will not affect the building or parking lot.
The engineering drawings have been approved by Council. The Wheelhouse must be in place
to complete final repairs; the Port Burwell Historical Society will turn the Wheelhouse over to the
municipality after final repairs are complete. The Wheelhouse will be mounted on a concrete
foundation, level with the surrounding ground.
Captain Richard Metz the last captain of the ship Judith M. Pierson (also called the Fern Glen)
has offered assistance to restore the Wheelhouse. He has offered to donate some money and
the items he removed from the ship.
The Wheelhouse should be moved this fall subject to Council approval, weather, and work
timeline.

11. Other Business
(a) Ron reports that the shed beside the Lighthouse will soon have a new red roof, depending
on weather. Ron also recommends that the cement pad the anchor is placed on be repaired.
The corners are broken at the south end of the cement pad. Approximately 4ft of the pad serves
no real purpose. Ron recommends that Public Works cut off approximately 3ft of cement to
even out the pad and improve appearances. Margaret will put in a request to Public Works.
Motion made to direct Public Works to repair cement pad made by Ron Bradfield, seconded by
Bob Graham. All in Favour.
b) The Port Burwell Santa Claus Parade will be held December 2nd, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
The Port Burwell Historical Society will serve free hot chocolate and cookies at the shed by the
Lighthouse after the parade. Volunteers and donations of cookies are welcome. An MC for the
evening is also needed.

d) Margaret Underhill asked Ron Bradfield if he knew who the past owners of the lot the
Marine Museum is located on were, to confirm the changes in the variance on the lot. Ron
reports that it was residential. Ron and Bonnie Bradfield lived there around 1960. The owner

1988.
