1. Call to Order
Chair Bev Hickey calls the meeting to order at 7:01, September 14th 2016

6. Minutes
(a) Motion to adopt minutes of August 10th, 2016 Museum Meeting.
Moved by Chuck Buchanan,Seconded by Ray Maddox to accept minutes.All in Favour.
7. Correspondence
a) Chairpersons Report- Chuck Buchanan covered Sunday September 4th' Bev Hickey covered
Monday September 5th of the Labour Day long weekend at the Marine Museum as the
students were no longer available.
b)August Museum Report
Update on visitor attendance and final month with the students at the Marine Museum and
Lighthouse.
c) Paul Shipway re. 150 funding
Application for the renovations and repairs made for the Vienna Memorial Park has been
submitted. Possible upgrades for hydro and concession booth.
8. Unfinished Business
a) Welcome new board member Lynda Millard
b)Chuck Buchanan replaced the vents in the Furnace room and Bathroom at the Marine
Museum.
c) Information re. Ontario 150 Programs
No new information
d) Donation of painting from Nancy Vince
Painting has been accepted into the museum collection, still must be cataloged. Museum
has a similar framed photograph. Ron Bradfield suggests that one of the images be hung in
the lighthouse.
Motion to photograph at light house, and the painting at museum made by Ray Maddox,
Seconded by Ron Bradfield.All in Favour
e) August Monthly Report
Reviewed previously in Correspondence
f) Lightbulbs at the Marine Museum have been replaced by Chuck Buchanan.
All the flood lights on wooden display have been replaced with LED lights.
g) RE Edison Museum committee report minutes
Accepted as information
h) Message from C.E.O Paul Shipway re. The 150`h anniversary and money to the Vienna
Community Park.

9. New Business
a) Susan Start sends her regrets and resignation to the Museums Bayham Committee.
Resignation letter has been sent to Chair Bev Hickey via email from Susan Start to resign
as a member of the Museums Bayham Committee. Bev Hickey will send Susan a letter of
regrets and thanks.
With regrets Ray Maddox moves to accept resignation. Seconded by Chuck Buchanan.
b) New Member Required
After the acceptation of Susan Starts resignation, An Advisory Board Resolution has been
made to request that Council re-advertise the posting of vacancy for a new board member
on the municipality of Bayham website and follow consistent and proper procedure
regarding the new application process.
Motion moved by Ray Maddox,Seconded by Albert White. All in Favour.
c)The Ontario Heritage Trust re Nominations for Young Heritage Leaders Program
No Nominations
d) Doors Open Ontario re Museum and Lighthouse staffing for the day
Bev hickey will be present at the Marine Museum and Lighthouse, using a sign to manage
one site at a time if need be. Albert White will assist when needed.
e) Elgin Talbot Maps
Left in the hands of curator Jennifer Beauchamp, until use is determined.
10.Finances(Budget)
Budget Approval
a) Budget allowance from Special Events should be considered for hosting any visitors from the
OMA conference in the first week of October 2017. Allotment for refreshments/hosting will
be discussed at a later date upon approval of conference activities.
b) Resolution has been made to accept the 2017 budget with adjustment to include the $7500
in expenditures to the Edison Museum portion of operation budget details.
