Box 160,9344 Plank Road STRAFFORDVILLE, ONTARIO Thursday, October 15, 1998 7:00 p.m. The regular meeting of Council of the Municipality of Bayham was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 1998 in the Council Chambers. Present were Mayor Max Stewart, Deputy Mayor Jack Petrie, Councillors David Mason and Cliff Evanitski, Administrator/Treasurer Lynn S. Buchner, and Clerk Lynda Millard. Councillor John Nezezon was absent. 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Max Stewart called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST & THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF Deputy Mayor Petrie, as agent, disclosed a pecuniary interest in Items 6.1(a) and 6.1(b). 3. Demeyere Limited dated October 1, 1998 having reference to Council Resolution 98-707 dated September 25th, 1998 to review the design drawings prepared by L.A. Girard Engineering and the storm water management design for the Elizabeth Street Subdivision and to prepare an appropriate report to Council be received; AND THAT prior to any work being commenced by Cyril J. Demeyere Limited,the developer be requested to agree in writing to pay for the total cost of the review and preparation of the necessary report to Council." Evanitski "WHEREAS the former Village of Port Burwell enacted and passed By-law 91-30, amended by By-law 96-27,being a by-law to implement development charges in the Village of Port Burwell; AND WHEREAS the current development charge of$4056 per lot was established in accordance with the development charges legislation of the day and was based on assumed population projections and planned growth related development; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bayham deems that the former Village of Port Burwell By-law 91-30, as amended should be further amended to reflect a development charge of$3,000 per lot until such time as a by-law is adopted by Council in accordance with the Development Charges Act, 1997 and any accompanying Regulations; THEREFORE By-law 98-81, being a by-law to amend Village of Port Burwell By- law No. 91-30, as amended to reduce the development charge per lot to $3,000 in the Village of Port Burwell be presented to Council for enactment."
