Box 160, 9344 Plank Road STRAFFORDVILLE, ONTARIO Thursday,June 1,2000 7:00 p.m. Public Meeting(7:30 p.m.) The regular meeting of Council of the Municipality of Bayham, was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2000 in Council Chambers. Present were Mayor Stewart, Deputy Mayor John Nezezon, Councillors David Mason, Mathew Schafer,Administrator Kyle Kruger and Clerk Lynda Millard. Co-ordinator of Planning Services Maureen Beatty, Chief Building Official Dwayne Daniel and Treasurer Suzanna Mantel were in attendance to present their reports. Councillor Evanitski attended at 8:25 p.m. 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Stewart called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. ADDITION OF ITEM By-law No. 2000-58 was added to the agenda. 2. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST & THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF There was no disclosure of pecuniary interest and the general nature thereof. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 18, 2000 2000-286 Moved by M. Schafer Seconded by J.Nezezon "THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of the Municipality of Bayham held May 18,2000 be approved." Disposition: Motion Carried 4. DELEGATIONS (a) 7:05 p.m.—John Scott, Graham Scott Enns,Municipal Auditor was in attendance to present the Auditors' Report and Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 1999. Item 9.1(d) (b) 8:00 p.m.—Lloyd & Myrna Cowan,were present and advised Council that they had done extensive advertising of their Pet Cemetery using"Line", not realizing that the signage when they did so was incorrect, and requested Council to consider renaming Ridge Road to Ridge Line. DELEGATIONS (continued) (c) 9:30 p.m. - Ralph Ainne - Elliott's Land Services Limited regarding a confidential property matter. Item 11.1(a) (d) Doug Peer, O.P.P. representative was in attendance to update Council regarding the shooting at Valley Variety south of Vienna on May 31A. He gave his appreciation to the Bayham Works Department for their assistance in providing signage for closing Plank Road. He advised that the police would soon have the investigation completed. 5. Nezezon "THAT Staff Report D2000-26 be approved; AND THAT Staff be directed to solicit proposals for the operation of the Black Dock,the Municipal Boat Launch and the rental of the municipal owned fmger docks with a deadline for submission of 12:00 Noon,Monday June 12th, 2000; AND THAT the proposals be reviewed by Staff and a report presented to Council for consideration at its regular meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday, June 15th, 2000." Schafer "THAT Staff Report D2000-19 regarding Fisheries & Oceans Response—Financial Assessment&Management Study be received; AND THAT Dillon Consulting be engaged to carry out a Harbour Feasibility Study pursuant to their proposal dated May 1,2000, at an upset limit of$18,646 exclusive of taxes, financing to be shared 50% with Fisheries and Oceans Canada."
