Box 160, 9344 Plank Road STRAFFORDVILLE, ONTARIO Thursday,April 20,2000 7:00 p.m. Presentation of Investment Certificates to First Bayham Baby Boy and Girl born in 2000 6:30 p.m. Prior to the Council Meeting,the Bayham 150/2000 Committee Chairman Tony Csinos, (dressed as mascot "Bayham Bert'), Mayor Max Stewart and Karyn Silliker, Manager, Province of Ontario Savings Office, Aylmer, made presentations of$150 Guaranteed Investment Certificates and offered congratulations to parents David and Anna Braun, and Kelly Pressey and Shane Brackenbury in honour of their babies Jamie David, born January 10th and Taylor May, born February 2nd, 2000. The short ceremony was a promotion for the Bayham 150/2000 "Reflections & Connections" sesquicentennial celebration activities being held July 22nd and 23rd throughout Bayham. The regular meeting of Council of the Municipality of Bayham, was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2000 in Council Chambers. Present were Mayor Max Stewart, Deputy Mayor John Nezezon, Councillors David Mason, Mathew Schafer and Cliff Evanitski, Administrator Kyle Kruger and Clerk Lynda Millard. 1. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Max Stewart called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST & THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF There was no disclosure of pecuniary interest and the general nature thereof. 3. Schafer "WHEREAS the Council of the Municipality of Bayham(the"Municipality")has reviewed the prices submitted by the tenderers on April 13,2000, for the construction of the Straffordville Sanitary Sewers for the Municipality under Contract No. 7 of Project Nos. 88-1338-01 and 88-1350-01; AND WHEREAS Council is in agreement with the recommendations submitted by the Consulting Engineers and Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA); NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Municipality: 1. THAT the lowest tender, submitted by Omega Contractors Limited, in the amount of$ 2,916,837.60 for the construction of the Straffordville Sanitary Sewers is hereby accepted; and 2. THAT the Ontario Clean Water Agency be so advised and requested to prepare the necessary contract documents for execution in order to award Contract No. 7; and 3. THAT the construction of the works be undertaken as expeditiously as possible and that in this regard the Ontario Clean Water Agency be hereby requested to issue,prior to the formal execution of contract documents,a letter authorizing Omega Contractors Limited to commence work on the construction of the Straffordville Sanitary Sewer works; 4. AND THAT By-law 2000-39, being a by-law to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute the Contract No. 7 agreement documents with Omega Contractors Limited,for the construction of the Straffordville Sanitary Sewers, be presented to Council for enactment." File: E08 2000-221 Moved by D. Mason Seconded by J.Nezezon "THAT Staff Report U2000-02 regarding Recoating - Port Burwell Water Tank be received; and 1. That the low tender of Dayson Industrial Services Inc. for the recoating of the Port Burwell Elevated Tank,in the amount of$126,973 plus GST be accepted, and that the Township of Malahide be authorized to act on the Board's behalf for the purpose of contract administration; 2. That the costs of the works be invoiced to the affected municipalities based upon average water consumption from 1997 to 1999; 3. That Council endorse retaining Envirocon Services for contract administration at an estimated cost of$4,500 plus GST; 4. That the Port Burwell Water System Board be authorized to engage services for project inspection, at a cost not to exceed $20,000 plus applicable taxes; 5. That staff be authorized to forward sufficient funds for the recoating project to the Township of Malahide to appropriately administer the necessary contracts."
